After more than two years of planning, writing, negotiating, revising, discussing, then doing it all again, more times than we can count, we are finally ready to put our new percentage-for-public-art ordinance to the vote! Please join us on the morning of December 17, to watch the vote in City Council Chambers, then to celebrate it being passed (fingers crossed!) that evening at Fisch Haus from 5-8PM.

The art community in Wichita has been pushing for an ordinance like this for many years, but the conditions just haven’t been right until now. We are very fortunate to have a visionary and art-friendly City Council (thanks, all of you, for your patience, participation, and guidance throughout this entire process), and a supportive (and equally patient!) group of City staff without whom this would never have happened. And, the biggest thanks of all to our group of tenacious and unswerving committee members who have spent countless hours figuring out how to make this all work:
