It’s the 12th year of Living Statues! This is an annual family-friendly event that offers a unique and inspirational environment within which the public is invited to sketch, photograph, paint, or otherwise immortalize a group of talented Ballet Wichita dancers. The dancers perform a series of short interpretive tableaux throughout the evening, coordinated by a soundtrack composed specifically for the event by a local musician: this year we’re excited to shake it up with some original and fabulous live music! Members of The International Superstar Boy Band will be pulling a 2 hour-long improv sesh for our Ballet Wichita dancers in an all new, unrecorded, never heard before or after soundtrack that you need to hear.

First Friday, February 7, 2020. The dancers will pose from 7:30-9:30PM. This year’s theme is “classic ballet, with a twist”! The dancers will be portraying a wide range of popular characters, in costumes altered to highlight the multiple facets of each persona.

The audience is welcome to bring their own drawing materials, but we will also have paper and various drawing implements available courtesy of Lawrence Photo.
